Doig’s of Glasgow takes high-spec Enviro400

An ADL Enviro400 double-deck has joined a fleet of more than 30 vehicles operated by Doig’s of Glasgow. The business, which can trace its roots back almost 70 years, is run by father and son team Andy and Iain Forsyth from the company’s Melbourne Street depot in central Glasgow.

Doig’s of Glasgow provides vehicles for prestigious, high profile events such as the Commonwealth Games and the Ryder Cup, and to transport visiting football teams such as Barcelona, Juventus, Benfica, Zenit St Petersburg and Spartak Moscow.

The new 11.5m 86-seat double-deck is powered by a Cummins 6.7-litre engine with a ZF Ecolife gearbox. It has driver’s air-con, air chillers, LED-lit staircase and under-seat lighting, ferry lift, alloy wheels, 10-camera CCTV, low bridge warning system, CD and radio speakers, tinted windows, full leather seats with double padding and contrast stitching, and a wood effect finish to the floors.

“Our aim is to provide the very best in modern, luxury passenger transport and our new Enviro400 fits the bill perfectly,” says Iain Forsyth. “It combines high capacity, style and comfort, and is ideal for large groups that want to travel together. It is already proving popular for school excursions, weddings and corporate outings.”
