Eminox is confident of getting approval shortly for its retrofit system for Euro 5 Volvo B9Rs which would enable them to meet Euro 6 emissions standards. The company has gained a provisional Clean Vehicle Retrofit Accreditation Scheme pass on its retrofit emissions control system following trials at Millbrook Proving Ground.
This is likely to be the first coach system to be passed and approved by CVRAS – and follows on from Eminox being the first company to gain CVRAS accreditation for buses.
Once approved, coach operators should be able to upgrade existing B9R vehicles cost-effectively, enhancing their value, or buy second-hand models, knowing that they will be compliant with the Euro VI regulations, as mandated in the London Ultra Low Emissions Zone, and other proposed clean air zones across the UK, according to Eminox.
Eminox is also working to achieve accreditation on a wide range of other vehicles, available from its Coach Fitment Centre later this year.
