Stagecoach Manchester has appointed Tony Cockcroft as its new engineering director. Cockcroft leads Stagecoach Manchester’s 280-strong engineering team, who oversee a fleet of more than 700 buses across Greater Manchester.
He joined Stagecoach in 2010 as fleet engineer at the Stockport depot, before being promoted to engineering director at Merseyside & South Lancashire in 2012.
Cockcroft says: “My primary role is to make sure there is a safe working and travel environment for all our staff and customers. I have an excellent team of engineers around me and we will be working together to build on the exceptionally high standards of engineering set in Greater Manchester by my predecessor and to continue to deliver reliable bus services to the people of Greater Manchester.”
Elisabeth Tasker, managing director, Stagecoach Manchester, adds: “Tony brings with him a breadth of skills, knowledge and experience of the transport industry. He will complement a strong senior management team and will support us to continue to put our customers at the heart of everything we do.
