Low Carbon nominations for bus operators and manufacturers

Alexander Dennis Ltd, BYD Europe, First and Scania Great Britain are nominated in this year’s Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership awards which will be presented at a ceremony in Milton Keynes in September.

The three manufacturers are competing for the Low Carbon Heavy Duty Vehicle Manufacturer of the Year award, while First Bus is nominated for Low Carbon Vehicle Operator of the Year, and H2 Aberdeen and Reading Buses are up for the Low Carbon Road Transport Initiative of the Year award.

“It’s been another year of significant progress in decarbonising UK road transport from the point of view of both technology and uptake,” says LowCVP managing director Andy Eastlake. “In many areas of transport, technology has been developing at an extraordinary pace, and vehicle users are having to work hard just to keep up. The LowCVP is at the centre of this exciting industry and we look forward to celebrating the UK’s continued leadership in this vital area.”

The LowCVP Champions Awards were established in 2010, and this year’s event is being held at Millbrook Proving Ground on 14-15 September and includes a Ride & Drive in a test-track environment, networking activities and a seminar programme.
