Big Lemon owner cleared Big Lemon owner cleared
Tom Druitt, owner of Brighton bus company The Big Lemon, has been cleared of charges relating to the use of one of the company’s coaches in a protest against fracking in Greater Manchester last year. A charge of obstructing the highway was dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service, while a second charge of causing or permitting a vehicle to be used in a manner which involved a danger of injury to any other person was thrown out by Manchester magistrates.

The Magistrates’ Court ruled there was no case to answer as the prosecution could not prove the defects found on the vehicle, a 28-year-old Plaxton Paramount-bodied Volvo B10M, were not caused by police or protesters.
