Plaxton ending Anston bus production

Plaxton ending Anston bus production Cheetah production moves to Scarborough along with Beaver and Pronto.
PLAXTON is to close its small bus manufacturing facility at Anston, near Sheffield, with the loss of 52 jobs. It intends to transfer production of the Cheetah, Beaver and Pronto to Scarborough. The plan is to end production at Anston by the end of June.

The closure does not affect the company’s other activities at Anston – coach sales, aftermarket support, Bus & Coach Glazing and vehicle repair. It is part of an on-going review by the Alexander Dennis group in response to the current economic climate, and follows an earlier announcement that 100 jobs are at risk at its Falkirk body-building plant.
